Post Support Systems work

Various Support Work

This is a collection of photos that document the Support work that I had done with wood, clamps and other materials this semester.

The following two photos are from a group tutorial where I had three sets of clamped wood in the centre of the room. One set had three pieces, one had two and the last had just one piece of wood. For the group tutorial I had everyone in the class sitting around the work with a piece of the same wood given to them to share with the person next to them. The instruction was that they must support the wood either with their hands or on their knees whilst they critique the work.

This is the documentation from a work I exhibited in the early weeks of the semester. I was an object in the work constantly circling the whiteboard desk contraption and contemplating some problem unknown to the audience. I got my friend Zac to read out an instruction to the audience that I was an object in the work and that they should begin the critique of the work whilst I am a part of it and that when they are ready to talk to me as the artist they must ask me to join them. This went on for a wonderful 30 or so minutes. They then decided that they could applaud to end the work and it did. After they applauded I joined them as the artist.
